The first supplement to the 1991 catalogue of Latin manuscripts at Trinity College Dublin describes in detail Latin manuscripts acquired by Trinity College Dublin from 1990 to 2003. These manuscripts span the ninth to sixteenth centuries. The supplement also offers bibliography of recent publications on Trinity College manuscripts.

The new book should appeal to scholars in different fields, such as literature, history, art, and music. The manuscripts described include, for example: the unique text of Michael of Belluno attacking luxury and superstition; sermons reflecting the influence of classical antiquity and renaissance humanism and disclosing instances of witchcraft; records about tombs at Clairvaux, the famed monastery associated with Saints Bernard and Malachy; amusing cartoon-like drawings in a text of Seneca the Younger and music in a Processional for nuns.

Marvin L. Colker (PhD, Harvard and LittD h.c., Trinity College Dublin) is Emeritus Professor of Classics at the University of Virginia. He has published five books and about eighty papers on medieval texts and manuscripts.
